Livestock

Marapana is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘Grazing animals’

We currently have five horses, two Murray Grey heifers and one steer and one alpaca grazing in the paddocks. Our numbers of horses are low at the moment until we get all the fencing completed.

We also have eight hens, three roosters, two turkeys and four turkey babies who free range around the farm property.

Our two dogs, Elly (a Kelpie) and Lizzy (a Jack Russell) keep an eye on the farmyard and welcome all our visitors.   Elly’s bark is rather loud but is in welcome and to let me know you have arrived - all she really wants to do is play with anyone who will throw her a stick!

We are a pet friendly farm – as long as visiting dogs don’t chase the chooks!  We do have a dog run in case they do.

The native birds are slowly returning to the area after the February 7th Fire.

We have seen Scarlet Robins, Kookaburras, Grey Shrike Thrushes, Wood Ducks and more.

The King Parrots have not come back yet, but we hope they will soon.
